Kirkwood A-1 Mite Hockey Team Still Undefeated For 2008


The Kirkwood A-1 Mite hockey team pulled off a nailbiting 3-3 tie with one minute 45 seconds left in the game against the Creve Coeur A-1 Mite Rockets in a game played today. It was the first time the two teams had played each other."We were planning on pulling our goalie at anytime prior to the goal," stated goalie coach Scott Smith. The goalie Matthew Smith was phenomenal as he withstood over 20 shots on goal, including a breakaway with 2 minutes 15 seconds left in the game. "That was the game winner in my book!" stated head coach Jim Taylor. The kids played their hearts out especially Max Brown who scored 2 of the 3 goals. Other standouts with assist's were Seamus Campbell, Chase Kilby, Vince Zerega, Jack Taylor, Mitchell Feeney, Grant Bolten, Jack Pate, Grant Branstetter, Will Gruener, Cam Wuestoff, and Bob Lockwood
